Portable Entertainment
The term “multimedia” is used to describe media that uses a combination of different content forms or data. A good example would be videos, pictures and music tracks that you can find almost anywhere today.
Before, people would bring bulky discmans which plays compact discs. Then the first generation of mp3 players were born. Instead of making a compact disc with a maximum of 21 music tracks, many companies redesigned their discmans to play raw mp3 files. The raw form could be stored into a compact disc and not take up that much space. Your regular compact disc could contain a maximum of 100-125 songs.
Although the compact disc concept is still being used till today, it is not that popular anymore. These days, people have mp3 players that are as big as their fingers which saves them a whole lot of space. It can easily fit into their pockets and they can take them anywhere they want.
Other than mobile music devices, there are many mobile video devices as well. These gadgets allow you to take your favorite videos with you wherever you go Also, these devices have output features that allow you to hook up your device to television sets. Having you music and videos in the palm of your hands is a very good thing. But it does not end there.
Nintendo and Sony have created hand-held devices that have music and video capabilities and more. One main feature they have instilled into these devices is their capability to play games. So if you get bored with listening to your music or watching videos, you can play your favorite games. An added feature to this is their capability to connect to other devices and play multi-player games. Also, these devices have the capability to connect to the internet so that you can download many of your desired content or update your device.
All of these devices are truly nice things to own. Although many of them are quite expensive, they are usually worth it. They also prove to be helpful at times. An example of this would be practicing for a school dance. You can just place the track into your device and you can take it with you to your classmates house, connect it to a speaker or radio and you can practice. Another example would be presentations that you have for customers or for school work. You can place your presentation into your device, connect it to a television set or projector and you will be able to present it.
